Vehicle Description
Locally owned since Covid, it's been a brilliant family camper and one that has been really looked after. It's a 58-plate with approximately 101,450 miles and 5 belted travelling seats, making it a great family camper. It was originally owned by the National Trust, so it's never been a workhorse, and was subsequently professionally converted to a fantastic standard. It's always been looked after, almost like a classic car, making sure it's had whatever it needed to keep it reliable for our family trips. It's been regularly serviced regardless of mileage, and over previous ownership, it has had replaced items including the intercooler, Bilstein shock absorbers, lowering springs and top mounts. It's also always been stored indoors during previous ownership. That, combined with the relatively low mileage, means it's a very tidy van for its age.
A few details about the van and conversion:
•Detachable towbar, which we've only ever used for carrying mountain bikes rather than towing trailers, so it's had a very easy life
•Front seats retrimmed in the more modern VW Simora fabric, with a driver's captain's seat and double passenger seat
•Double passenger swivel seat base with an additional fold-down/reclining bracket
•Custom fabricated metal back to the passenger seat, allowing the kids (or adults!) to climb into the pop-top without damaging the seat.
•Brand new Fabworx tested rock and roll bed professionally fitted a couple of years ago. A big improvement in comfort and the amount of space available inside
•Pop-top roof fitted by 8 Ball Camper Conversions, with additional mattress padding for comfort
•Twin gas hob supplied by a Campingaz cylinder
